The Value of Time
“Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time” – Jim Rohn
It’s the biggest mistake we make – we always think we have more time. It’s also one of the most common things I hear people say when they have experienced a loss.
Where has October gone? Where has the year gone? The years seem to go by quicker the older I get. This is why it’s so important to remember what truly matters to us. Have a think about this…how many friends/family have you spoken to in the past year and said “let’s meet up soon” but you still haven’t. I know I have. I hold my hands up to this. And I know these friends follow my posts and will be thinking the same thing. It’s not that these people aren’t important to me (they really are, I love them all) but we just fill our lives up with other ‘stuff’ because it’s so easy to these days and before you know it, a whole year has passed and we haven’t seen them.
Time with the people we love is priceless and we never know when time with that person will end, I know that for a fact.
So, as soon as I post this blog today, I am going to get my diary out and message those beautiful friends of mine with dates that I have free. I am going to insist that a date is put into the diary and it will become a non-negotiable for all of us, not a “let’s meet up soon!” I certainly don’t want the regrets of not spending more time with loved ones, especially if it’s something that I can make happen.
“At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent.” – Barbara Bush
